DAMIAN TAYLOR: The NU-47 sounded just insane on this instrument, which is very very quiet and delicate. It brought out all the subtle harmonics and incredible detail in a totally delicious way. I ran it through a new 1073/1176 chain. Bjork has recorded the majority of the new vocals on this record with a handheld SM58 so she can wing without headphones infront of whichever monitors we happen to be working on. Although I'd love dearly to capture her with the NU-47 on everything, the handheld vibe worked the best with her performances on these songs.

I'd love to take her NU-47 with me where ever I go - as I said it's just a beautiful sounding piece of engineering from Martin Kantola and I wish I had the opportunity to use it on EVERYTHING i record! I know Valgeir Siggurson would have used it a lot over recent years as he has been engineering the majority of her work between the early 00's and 2005, I don't know if he's on this board but I'm sure he could speak with more authority than me on the many and varied applications of this wonderful mic.
